Mayor Geary has decided to open a public subscription in aid of the sufferers in the Titanic disaster. "It is time the citizens should have an opportunity to express their sympathy with the sufferers in tangible form," he said. The city has already voted $5,000, and any amount will be accepted in the public subscriptions. Subscriptions may be made payable to the City Treasurer or to such newspapers as express their willingness to receive them.
