Aos vinte e nove dias do mez de Junho do anno de mil oito centos setenta quatro, nesta egreja parochial de São Braz do Arco da Calheta, Concelho da Calheta, Diocese do Funchal, baptizei solemnemente um indivíduo do sexo masculino a quem dei o nome de Manoel que nasceu nesta freguezia às dez horas da manhã do dia vinte e um do corrente mez e anno, filho legítimo (primeiro deste nome) de Joaquim Gonsalves Estanislau, lavrador, e de Maria de Jesus, governo de sua casa, naturaes desta freguezia onde forão recebidos, parochianos da mesma, moradores na Ladeira e Lamaceiros. Neto paterno de António Gonsalves Estanislau e de Damiana de Jesus, e materno de João Fernandes Tambor e de Joaquina de Jesus. Foi padrinho João Gonsalves Teixeira, cazado, lavrador e morador nas Paredes, o qual sei ser o próprio. E para constar lavrei em duplicado este assento, que depois de ser lido e conferido perante o padrinho, commigo o não assigna por não saber escrever. Era ut supra. On the twenty ninth of June of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy four, in this church of São Braz of Arco da Calheta, County of Calheta, Diocese of Funchal, I have solemnly baptised an individual of the male gender who I have christened as Manoel, who was born in this village at ten a.m. of the twenty first day of the same month and year, legitimate son (first of his name) of Joaquim Gonsalves Estanislau, agricultural labourer, and Maria de Jesus, housewife, born in this village, where they were married, parishioners in the same village, resident at Ladeira e Lamaceiros. Grandson on his father's side of António Gonsalves Estanislau and Damiana de Jesus, and on his mother's side of João Fernandes Tambor and Joaquina de Jesus. The Godfather was João Gonsalves Teixeira, married, agricultural labourer and resident at Paredes, who is of my personal acquaintance.
