Mr Humphrey Lloyd

 

Mr Humphrey Lloyd, 32, was born in Brighton, Sussex [1].

He initially signed-on to the Titanic in Belfast for her delivery trip to Southampton. When he signed-on again, on 4 April 1912, he gave his address as the Criterion, Oxford Street, (Southampton). His last ship had been the Olympic. As a saloon steward he received monthly wages of £3 15s.

Lloyd died in the sinking. His body was later recovered by the Mackay-Bennett (#57) and buried at sea.

NO. 57. - MALE. - ESTIMATED AGE, 35. - HAIR, DARK.

CLOTHING - Green covert coat; grey striped coat; blue trousers; Company's buttons on vest; undervest "HL"; new black boots; " H. L." on vest, etc.

EFFECTS - Letter in pocket to "Dear Humph" from "Dick." Company's checks for 1 penny No. 446; scissors; key; two knives.

CREW - Steward for rooms No. 470 (First Class).

Notes
1. When he signed-on in Belfast he gave his birthplace as Brighton, when he signed-on in Southampton he gave his birthplace as Barmouth.
