Coal Strike news billboard

Pall Mall Gazette

Advert for the Pall Mall Gazette in March 1912, suggesting that miners are "blackmailing the nation" (with obvious pun intended) by failing to work pits in their demand for better pay.
If the coal strike had continued a few days longer, the Titanic would unlikely have been able to sail as scheduled on April 10.
