Ronald I have checked the Titanic's Crew Manifest and subsequently I cannot find any surname under the spelling of Stephens or Stevens. If you know what his initials were and roughly what year he was killed, then I would advise you to allow your server to do a search for the Commonwealth War Graves Commisson. They might be able to shed some light with your enquiries. Failing that, there's always a possibility that somebody on this Board, could point you in the right direction altogether. Regards-Andrew Williams. |

Ronald, Humble appologises, I shouldn't have said killed, but drowned instead. Andrew W. |

Stevens/Stephens- regarding. Thank you Andrew for your research. There is a mystery here, as my mother-in-law's best friend, Ethel S., lost her brother on the Titanic. I will do as you suggest, and also search the local newspapers of the time. I will report back later. Ronald |

Re my earlier search for crewboy Stevens. I have found him. He was on the Lusitania (not the Titanic) when it was torpedoed, he survived. His grandson died recently here in Princes Risbough, Bucks, England. I have the local paper cutting (Bucks Herald) May 1915 if anyone wants it as an attachment.Ron |

Re Stevens (George). Correction. He was a 3rd class passenger on the Lusitania & survived. He died a few years ago in Bucks, UK. |

Hi Ronald! I meant to leave a message a few weeks ago but like most things, I distracted elsewhere. Perhaps what I have noticed and learnt from the past about research and no matter how long your level of enquiries take, sometimes like in your case, the rewards are benefical and gives you that sense of pride and self-achivement. I am extremely grateful and happy to see that your family-tree Ronald, is closely associated with this other famous ocean liner "Lusitania" which became a casualty of war. Best wishes and congratulation! Andrew W.

Re: George Stevens of Princes Risborough. Survivor of the Lusitania. Died 1961/1962 in Princes Risborough. Emigrated to USA, but returned aboard the Lusitania to sort out his father's affairs after his death. Age at time of sinking, aprox 28. My grandfather. |
