I've been pondering for the past few days, was there a Christmas tree onboard the White Star Liners, especially the 'superliners' like Olympic, Majestic, &c.? Whilst the reception room on 'D' Deck would be the most appropriate, the main forward foyer on 'A' Deck, with the lead and glass dome seems more logistically suited to size and splendour. But what about a fire hazard? Rough seas in December (as regular an occurrence as an election recount in Washington State!)? A myriad of possible difficulties? Yet, the times being what they were, certainly Holiday and festive ornaments were in order? For example, gifts for the children in all three classes? Your thoughts and postulations on this are welcome. |
