Does anyone know if anyone in boat 2 saw the propellers breaking the water's surface as they rowed around the Titanic's stern? I am sure I read it somewhere (probably not Boxhall's testimony) but I can't find it now. Best wishes Paul |

I remember some of the references myself. I don't know if any of them were from the people in Boat Two, but I recall statements to that effect. The Titanic Inquiry Project website seems to be down at the moment so I can't check any further then that. Cordially, Michael H. Standart Equal Opportunity Curmudgeon

Forgive me for sounding dumb, but when you mean ''breaking the water's surface'' do you mean the propellers rising out of the sea water?

I know Thomas Ranger saw the propellers: "4098. Will you just describe to us what you mean? - She just slowly turned up and went down. You could see the three propellers in the air." Lightoller thought they were possibly up: "Even at that time I think the propellers were clear of the water. That I will not be certain of." |
