Hello everyone, Recently I was reading a book that included some of the more complicated details of Titanic's sinking, and it made me wonder what the average rate in GPM the Titanic sunk. Does anyone know if there is an answer to that? -Adam Lang |

All I can tell you is that the question is debatable and debated. The initial flooding rate was alleged to be around 7 tons per second, (I caught that much in an article published in Naval History magazine back in 1999) but as Erik Wood pointed out in the Affecting Titanic's Trim thread, there are some problems with that. More research is required. Cordially, Michael H. Standart Equal Opportunity Curmudgeon
