I just wanted to record here how helpful Jim Kalafus, Shelley Dziedzic, Mike Poirier, Pat Cook, Brian Ticehurst, Jim Nolan and Mike Finlay were with the making of my book The Titanic Diaries.

Without their help and exhaustive patience the project would simply not have been completed. What is so marvellous too is how willing they are to share their information. Their knowledge on all manner of things Titanic related is extraordinary!

Thank you.

Well, Anthony, speaking for myself it was a pleasure to help, and I am glad to see that the book turned out well and is selling respectably. I am also glad, for my own part, to see Adella; Barbara; Dolly; Robert and Holis preserved in book form.

I think that one of the benefits of doing this kind of work is finding out, firsthand, just how generous people can be with their time and artifacts. Mike and I had an unpleasant experience at the outset of our own project, the less said of which the better, that fostered within us the desire never to hoard information and to always remember that the person asking the question or making the request of us is deserving of at least a modicum of respect. The reason I bring that whole affair up is because, since then, it has never been repeated: we've met some of the nicest people via ET and other venues and are consistently pleased and heartened by just how supportive the majority of researchers, family members and innocent bystanders can be in these situations. For every troll one encounters, there are three dozen genuinely nice people waiting to help, or so we have found. So, we enjoyed contributing what we could to your book, and are both glad to see that the end result was a good one.

And I can't wait to get you started on the sequel. More survivors; more photos; bigger budget; simultaneous N.Y.C, L.A. and London debuts, and Liza (partially redeemed in our eyes after her recurring role on Arrested Development) sings the theme song. It'll be great.

Anthony, perhaps you can help dispell some of the confusion about your book, which seems to be selling under three different titles! lol. I have information on the following:

Saved from the Titanic and Other Dramatic Accounts of Shipwreck Survival, published by Maritime Heritage, 2005.

The Titanic Diaries: Dramatic Accounts of Shipwreck Survival published by Silver Link Publishing, 2005.

Both of these editions are in softcover, far as I can tell.

I have been lead to believe that it is also being offered under the title Orphans of the Titanic, although I have not been able to confirm this third version yet.

Help!!!!!!!!

all the best, Michael (TheManInBlack) T

The confusion arose before the book was published. At the moment it can be found under three titles: Orphans of the Titanic, Saved from the Titanic and The Titanic Diaries.

The ONLY available version (and the correct one) is The Titanic Diaries. Apologies to anyone out there who is experiencing problems. I have told the publishers (Silver Link) to try and amend this but it is taking time. The book is available on Amazon UK where it is a bit cheaper!

Many thanks too to all of those people sending me private messages about the book. I am grateful and humbled by your responses!

Looks like an excellent book, Anthony. Would anyone mind telling me which children from the Titanic are in the book, if any, and if there are any pictures of them? If so, I might want to purchase it. Many thanks :-)
