Unfortunately for the old Kalakala, that guy pretty much has some dreams and a rusty old ferry. Not so much on the funding. I'd love to see it work though. |

Peter Bevis, who rescued her from Alaska in the first place, had grand ideas too, but he also ran out of money. I toured her shortly after her return. There's still some beauty in her, but she needs a LOT of work. |

South Wales to Bristol and then down the Bristol Channel to Ilfracombe (and sometimes on to Lundy Island) used to be a popular route for steamer excursions - I once had a trip to Lundy aboard the PS Bristol Queen, while the last ship I saw on this service was the MV Balmoral which (I think) will be running a Titanic charter in April 2012 (?) |
