For some local coverage of the New York's arrival at her namesake city, look at, among others, the web sites of The New York Times, WCBS radio, WCBS television, and WNBC television, the last two of which include video from onboard and inside the ship.

Members of the crew, both USMC and USN, were at today's Giants-Chargers game at Giants Stadium and were given a rousing ovation when they were introduced.

Ault, 96, is believed to be the oldest Navy veteran to have served on the USS New York BB-34, a battleship used in World War II.

He and nine members of his family traveled to New York City to watch as the newest USS New York was commissioned.
