Edward Dodd Memorial
On the west wall of the chancel in Christ Church Crewe is a plaque to the memory of Edward Dodd. It reads
"In Memory of Edward Charles Dodd, Junior 3rd Engineer who perished by the foundering of the Steamship Titanic in the Atlantic Ocean, April 1912. This tablet was erected by the Brethren of the Freemasons' Lodge, Four Cardinal Virtues no 979 Crewe."
Dodd was born in Crewe, and served his engineering apprenticeship in Crewe Railway works. This plaque was formerly situated in St Paul's church on Hightown in Crewe, but was relocated to Christ Church when St Paul's closed, later to become a charity base.
