FATHER AND BROTHER ON TITANIC’S DEATH LIST

Newark Evening News

Tuesday 30 April 1912

ROEBLING, April 30---In the death list of the Titanic Mrs. Olaf Swanberg of Third avenue, yesterday discovered the names of her father and brother among the third-class passengers who were lost. The brother, a prosperous settler in Minnesota, had returned to Sweden to bring his aged parent to his new American farm.

Eagerness of the father to see America resulted in their boarding the Titanic, an earlier boat than the one on which they had intended to sail.

[Although not named, the father and son described in this article appear to be Mr. Svensson and Mr. Ekström.]
