GRAND DUKE AT NEWPORT

NEWPORT, R. I., Aug.21---Grand Duke Alexander Mikailovitch, the Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, arrived to-night from New York to visit the Russian Ambassador and Mme. Bakhmeteff, and Mrs. John Astor.He will be at Beechwood, Mrs. Astor's place, during his Newport visit. Later he will shoot in the Rockies.

When the Grand Duke arrived at the Wickford landing he was met by the Russian Ambassador and his staff. Secret service men accompanied the visitor. This evening the Grand Duke with the Russian Ambassador and Mme. Bakhmeteff, the Embassy staff and other guests numbering twenty were entertained by Mrs. Astor with a dinner and music at Beechwood. The Grand Duke will lunch with the Ambassador on Sunday.
