Wendron Parish, Cornwall. 1901 Census

The 1901 census for Wendron, Cornwall reveals Frederick James Banfield, aged 17. A grocers assistant he was at home with his widowed mother, Ellen (his father had died in September 1900)and younger brother William John.
Also in Wendron was his father's cousin, James H Banfield (cabinet maker), wife Jane and 4 young children. It seems that all the Banfield's had moved out of Helston to Wendron in about 1899.
In this same parish, at the nearby hamlet of Carnkie, was living James Andrew and family whose son, Frank Andrew (five year age difference to Fred Banfield) travelled on Titanic with Fred Banfield.
