JOHN M. DAVIS, 45, FORMER C.C. MAN, PASSES IN DETROIT

John M. Davis, 45, a former Copper Country man, died suddenly in Detroit Sunday morning, according to word received here.
Born in England, he came to the United States with his mother, being one of the survivors of the Titanic which sank on April 14, 1912. He resided in the Copper Country until eight years ago when he left for Detroit.
Fraternally, he was a member of Calumet Aerie, No. 352 Fraternal Order of Eagles.
A son and daughter, and a brother, Richard H. Nicholls of New Allouez, survive.
The remains will arrive in Calument Tuesday morning and will be taken to the Shea Funeral Chapel from where services will be held Wednesday at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Meldon Crawford officiating. The body will be placed in the Lake View receiving vault.
