Lady Duff Gordon

Lucy, Lady Duff Gordon wearing a pair of 18th century emerald and pearl cross-shaped earrings that were lost in the sinking of the Titanic. They were Duff Gordon family heirlooms given to her by her husband as a present on their wedding in 1900. The photo is by Bassano, Ltd., London, an original negative of which is owned by the National Portrait Gallery.
