Aos onze dias do mez de Fevereiro do anno de mil oito centos noventa e nove, nesta egreja parochial de São Braz do Arco da Calheta, Concelho da Calheta, Diocese do Funchal, na minha presença compareceram os nubentes Manuel Gonçalves Estanislau e Maria Augusta da Incarnação, os quais sei serem os próprios com todos os papéis de estylo correntes e sem impedimento algum canónico ou civil para o casamento, elle de edade de vinte e quatro annos, solteiro, agricultor, filho legítimo de Joaquim Gonçalves Estanislau e de Maria de Jesus, e ella de edade de vinte e trez annos, solteira, de occupação doméstica, filha legítima de Filippe de Freitas e de Maria Augusta d'Aguiar, todos naturaes desta freguesia, onde foram baptizados os nubentes e onde moram, elle no sítio da Ladeira e Lamaceiros, ella no sítio de Ledo e Vinhático, os quais nubentes se receberam por marido e mulher e os uni em matrimónio procedendo em todo este acto conforme o Rito da Sancta Madre Egreja Cathólica Apostólica Romana. Foram testemunhas presentes, que sei serem os próprios, Francisco Assis de Freitas, vendedeiro, e Manoel d'Agrella, sapateiro, cazados e moradores nesta freguezia, no sítio de Ladeira e Lamaceiros. E para constar lavrei em duplicado este assento que depois de ser lido e conferido perante os cônjuges e testemunhas, commigo o não assignam por não saber escrever. Era ut supra. On the eleventh day of February of the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety nine, in this church of São Braz of Arco da Calheta, County of Calheta, Diocese of Funchal, in my presence came forward the intended spouses Manuel Gonçalves Estanislau and Maria Augusta da Incarnação, both of whom are of my personal acquaintance, with all the proper papers, and with no civil nor canonical impediments, he aged twenty four, single, agricultural labourer, the legitimate son of Joaquim Gonçalves Estanislau and Maria de Jesus, she aged twenty three, single, housewife, the legitimate daughter of Filippe de Freitas and Maria Augusta d'Aguiar, all born in this village, where the intended spouses were baptized and where the reside, he at Ladeira e Lamaceiros, she at Ledo e Vinhático, which intended spouses took their vows as husband and wife and were united in matrimony according to the Rite of the Holy Mother Roman Apostolic Catholic Church. The witnesses, who are both of my personal acquaintance, were Francisco Assis de Freitas, salesman, and Manoel d'Agrella, shoemaker, both of whom married and resident at this village, in Ladeira e Lamaceiros. And for the record I have executed this certificate in duplicate which, after being read and confirmed in the presence of the witnesses and the spouses, is not signed by them because they cannot write.
