MISS EMILY R. CLARKE A PROSPECTIVE BRIDE

Cooperstown Girl Betrothed to Danilo Machado of Havana

Announcement has been made here by Mrs. S. Beach Cooke of Cooperstown, N. Y., of the engagement of her second daughter, Miss Emily Ryerson Hyde Clarke, to Danilo Machado, son of Señora Virginia Medina de Machado of Havana, formerly of the province of Santa Clara, Cuba, and of the late Arturo Machado.

The prospective bride, who attended St. Timothy's School, Catonsville, Md., and Sweet Briar (Va.) College, studied also in France and Italy. George Hyde Clarke of Cooperstown is her father. Miss Clarke is a niece of Mrs. Arthur O. Choate of this city.

Mr. Machado was graduated from the Institute of Technology in Havana. His father was a cousin of the late Gerardo Machado, former President of Cuba.

The wedding will take place soon.
