LONDON, April 5---According to a dispatch from Modena, sent out by the
Exchange Telegraph Company, it is understood in Rome that negotiations
are proceeding for a meeting at Venice between the Kaiser and J. P.
Morgan. After the conversations which Mr. Morgan had with King Victor
Emmanuel, the belief is gaining ground that the object of a meeting
between the Kaiser and the American magnate is connected with an attempt
to effect a settlement of the was between Italy and Turkey.
