Music Played on the Titanic

Music Played on the Titanic

The musicians on the Titanic appear to have had a basic repertoire of 342 tunes according to a contemporary White Star Line booklet. This was supplemented with other hymns and anthems which they might be called upon to play upon request. There was also a ship's bugler who called passengers to dinner. Douglas Norman played piano at a hymn sing on the afternoon before the disaster. Other musicians on board include Eugene Daly who brought his uilleann pipes abopard and was heard playing Erin's Lament and A Nation Once Again as the ship left Queenstown.
