None Picked Up Celtic

Chicago Record Herald

Tuesday 23 April 1912

General Passenger Agent Jeffries of the White Star Line today denied the report that an officer and woman steerage passenger of the Titanic were picked up by the Celtic, which arrived in this city on Saturday morning, as related in a dispatch last night from Muncie, Ind.

Mr. Jeffries said the vessel might have made stops to endeavor either to rescue passengers of the Titanic or to pickup bodies.
