Postwar 1

EXQUISITE DÉCOR; in boldness of concept and beauty of design, the ebony and bronze stairway shown symbolizes the manner in which art and function have been blended in the Nieuw Amsterdam. Working hand-in-hand, Holland’s leading designers, decorators and naval architects have produced interiors frankly keyed to their maritime settings and unusually beautiful.  Nothing has been overlooked to furnish the Nieuw Amsterdam with the very finest the Netherlands can produce.

This was the staircase leading to and from the Ritz- Carlton Room.
