Postwar 16. Tourist Class Cocktail Bar.

COCKTAIL BAR: The gay canary yellow and buff décor of the Nieuw Amsterdam’s Tourist Class Bar is designed to give spirits a lift…even without the benefits of alcohol. But there’s no denying that the fine liquors and smooth mixed drinks served by the veteran bar steward exert an added attraction! You’ll enjoy meeting your friends here for a before dinner cocktail or a late evening nightcap…and the modest, tax free prices will amaze you!

The elegant suite of Third class rooms, renamed Tourist after the war, was removed in 1961 when the ship was converted to two classes. Their replacement, the Henry Hudson Lounge was a large room with proportions somewhat hampered by its single deck height, furnished in Rotterdam-like style.
