ADOPTS HIS WIFE'S CHILD

New York Times

Sunday 26 March 1916

Horace S. De Camp, who married the widow of Daniel V. [sic] Marvin, got permission from Surrogate Fowler yesterday to adopt the infant daughter of his wife by her first marriage.

Mr. Marvin lost his life when the Titanic went down. He and his wife were on their honeymoon and Mrs. Marvin remained with her husband until he ordered her to leave him and enter one of the oats. Shortly after Mrs. Marvin reached this city her child was born. It was one of the three born of women who had been rescued from the sinking vessel. The child was christened Mary Margaret Elizabeth Marvin and she will retain all of the names except the last.

Mr. and Mrs. De Camp live at 317 Riverside Drive.
