Ann Straube, 92, a survivor of the 1912 sinking of the Titanic, died Tuesday in her North Side home. Mrs. Straube, a homemaker, was 14 when she managed to get aboard a lifeboat when the British passenger liner sank on the way to New York, killing 1,513 people. Born in the United States and raised in Ireland, she was returning to the U.S. to live when the ship struck an iceberg. She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Komay and Mary Kapolnek; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 5917 W. Irving Park Rd. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 5212 W. Agatite Ave.
