I have in my possession (recently discovered) a rare illuminated accommodation awarded to the Purser (Ernest G F Brown RNR) of the RMS Carpathia, the first ship to rescue the survivors from the “Titanic” sinking.  Ernest Brown was originally from Liverpool although may have had family connections in Southampton ?

With further research I have established that this rare accommodation was awarded to the first eight officers of the RMS Carpathia by the Liverpool Shipwreck & Humane Society for their humane services to the survivors of the “Titanic”

A bronze medal was issued to each officer in addition to the award and as a special token of appreciation a presentation gold medal was also awarded from the famous oil heiress Molly Brown, (survivor) who was one of the many rescued by the RMS Carpathia.
