Had Booked Passage on the Lusitania, Whose Sailing Was Canceled

Special Cable to THE NEW YORK TIMES

LONDON, April 18---A business friend of Benjamin Guggenheim says that had the Lusitania sailed as arranged on April 6, Mr. Guggenheim would be alive.

He booked a passage on the Lusitania, but the latter's sailing was canceled, as she was under repair, and the Carmania was substituted. Mr. Guggenheim preferred to wait for the next fast boat, which was the Titanic.
