GWINN FAMILY LEAVES SUDDENLY

Asbury Park Evening Press

Saturday 27 April 1912

Mrs. William L. Gwinn, whose husband, a postal clerk on the Titanic stood at his post trying to save the mails as the ship went down, left Asbury Park suddenly yesterday with her two children. The Gwinn’s [sic] had moved to this city some weeks before Mr. Gwinn sailed on the Titanic, intending to make the place their permanent home. Mrs. Gwinn’s mother accompanied them and a friend, Mrs. Louise Somers. Mrs. Somers rented for the Gwinns an apartment in Dr. Coleman’s building in Kingsley street.

Mrs. Somers disposed of the furniture in the apartment on Thursday. Yesterday she handed the keys of the apartment to Dr. Coleman. It was his first intimation that his tenants were leaving.
