HOUSE OF COMMONS---THE RETIREMENT OF SIR J. BIGHAM

The Times

Friday 18 March 1910

Mr. WATT (Glasgow College, Min.) asked the Prime Minister whether the retiring President of the Divorce, Probate, and Admiralty Court was, by his length of service, entitled to a pension?

Mr. ASQUITH.-I understand that the pension in question was granted upon a medical certificate.

In reply to a further question by Mr. WATT,

Mr ASQUITH said:--A Judge is entitled to his pension when he has served 15 years. He is also entitled to it if he is disabled by infirmity before he has served 15 years.
