LADY HARLAND'S WILL

Dame Rosa Matilda Harland, of Baroda, House Kensington Palace-gardens, W., who died at Tunbridge Wells on October 21, daughter of Mr. Thomas Wann, of Vermont, Belfast, and widow of Sir Edward Harland, Bt., M.P. for North Belfast 1889-95, one of the founders of Messrs. Harland and Wolff's shipbuilding yard, Belfast (in which the testatrix was a large shareholder), left estate of the gross value of £265,130, of which £256,540 is net personalty. She left £2,000 for distribution among charitable institutions in the city of Belfast, £500 each to the Distressed Gentlefolks' Aid Association, the Mildmay Mission to the Jews, and for the benefit of charities connected with St. Matthew's Church, Kensington, and £100 to the Rev. John Gibson, to be applied by him towards the maintenance of the library called "the Lady Harland Library " in connexion with his church.
