In the list of survivors of the Titanic this morning, there is no mention of A. J. Compton, jr., one of the largest stockholders of the Laurel House company at Lakewood, and of the Waumbeck Hotel company of Jefferson, N. H. Mr. Compton’s mother, Mrs. A. J. Compton and her daughter, Miss S. W. Compton, who were also on the White Star liner,were rescued. The Comptons are prominent in the winter colony at Lakewood, where they have lived for many years. Mr. Compton was a well known golfer.
