Keen interest was shown yesterday in the Doubles match at Wimbledon between Australasia and America, for had the former succeeded in adding another win to their dual win of Saturday, they would have qualified to play the holders, the British Isles, by winning three our of a possible five matches. Play began at a quarter to 4, and not until two hours later did America succeed in winning the fifth set and the match. Of the four, Mr N.E. Brookes, Mr A.F. Wilding, Mr Beals Wight, and Mr Karl Behr, the last-named certainly played the finest game. His volleying was remarkably brilliant and effective, and his activity enabled him to return many seemingly impossible strokes.
