Francis David Millet, the famous artist and author, who is said to have
been among those lost in the wreck of the Titanic, painted the two large
mural American Indian scenes at the Hudson Court House. Among the other
public buildings decorated by Millet are the Essex County Court House in
Newark, the State Capitol at St. Paul, the Customs House at Baltimore,
and the Federal Building at Cleveland.
