MR. MORGAN ANNOYED
New York Times
Resents Intimation That He Would Deal with "Mona Lisa" Thieves
---
By Marconi Transatlantic Wireless Telegraph to The New York Times
---
FLORENCE, April 12---J. Pierpont Morgan is much annoyed over the
unfounded report, communicated to him to-day, that any one had offered
to sell him "Mona Lisa."
He declared that nothing of the kind had happened, and that nobody had
offered him anything. He resented even that it should be imagined that
he would have any relations with persons offering to sell stolen goods.
He expressed a desire that he be left in peace like other citizens, to
enjoy a rest, without being the target for stupid inventions.
