MRS. CORNELL IS SISTER OF PROMINENT MAGISTRATE

BAYSIDE, April 16---Mrs. Edward W. Appleton, who was on the Titanic, is the wife of Edward W. Appleton, of this village. With her is Mrs. J. M. Brown, a relative, from Boston, who had spent some time at the home of the Appletons. Both women are reported to have been taken off safely by the Carpathia’s lifeboats. Mrs. Appleton is a sister-in-law of Daniel W. Appleton, formerly Colonel of the Seventh Regiment, and a sister of Magistrate Cornell, of Manhattan.

Mrs. R. C. Cornell, wife of the Magistrate, who was also a Titanic passenger, is not reported among the rescued.
