Hero of Titanic Disaster Warmly Welcomed in Congress
---
WASHINGTON, Dec. 9---Capt. Arthur S. [sic] Rostron, who drove the steamship Carpathia at full speed through a sea of icebergs to the rescue of the survivors of the Titanic disaster, availed himself to-day of his right under the resolution conveving to him the thanks of Congress, and appeared on the floor of the Senate. He was escorted by Senator William Alden Smith, Chairman of the committee that investigated the wreck.
Capt. Rostron was received with great enthusiasm. Senators pressed up to congratulate him, and to those who did not notice his entrance Senator Smith led the Captain by the arm and presented him.
