A representative of the Straus family was at the White Star steamship office continuously yesterday, waiting for news of Mr. and Mrs. Isidor Straus.

Sylvester Byrnes, Mr. Straus's secretary, had remained in the office all night. With the exception of a few hours he was there all day yesterday. Neither Mr. Straus or his wife are mentioned in the list of survivors wirelessed by the Carpathia. Mr. and Mrs. Straus's relatives and numerous friends in New York and elsewhere are in great distress over the uncertainty of their fate.
