The Countess of Rothes

The Countess of Rothes is the wife of the nineteenth Earl of Rothes, head of one of the oldest families of Scotland, who in 1893 succeeded to the title. The peerage is one of the very few in the United Kingdom that possesses the right of descent in the female line. In 1900 Lord Rothes married Miss Noëlle Lucy Martha Dyer Edwardes, only child of Thomas Dyer Edwardes of Prinknash Park, Gloucestershire. Lord and Lady Rothes have one son, Malcolm George Dyer-Edwardes, Lord Leslie, who was horn in 1902. The home of the family is Leslie House, Leslie, Fifeshire. The family owns about 9,000 acres.
