My grandfather William Mitchell was a Linen Keeper on the Lusitania. He survived the sinking, only to died within a year, of pneumonia. My mother was born a few months later.He lived in Liverpool. This postcard was sent to his sister Alice, from, I assume, his fathers in Birmingham. It is dated a week after the sinking.
