A RESTORATION AT VENICE

VENICE, April 24---In the presence of J. Pierpont Morgan the scaffolding
which has hitherto covered the northwest corner of the Church of St.
Mark has been removed, so that the marvelously perfect work of
restoration may be displayed to-morrow at the time when the Campanile
The corner of the church has been thoroughly repaired, new foundations
having been put in and its antique walls restored.
