Rescuer of Titanic Survivors Arrives in Washington to Receive Honor

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28---Capt. A. H. Rostron, who, as commander of the steamship Carpathia, directed the rescue of the survivors of the Titanic disaster, arrived here yesterday to receive from President Taft to-morrow afternoon the gold medal voted by Congress in recognition of his heroic services. The medal was received to-day by President Taft from its designer, John Flannagan of New York. The ceremony will take place in the East Room of the White House.

Capt. Rostron will also be presented with the American Cross of Honor at the British Embassy by Ambassador Bryce. Mrs. Rostron accompanies him.
