The Arnold and Haas families

La Tribune de Genève

The Arnold family, in Altorf*, are in a deep state of anxiety, for two of their members, Mr. Joseph Arnold, 25 years old, and his wife, née Franck, 20 years old, boarded the "Titanic". They were heading to Wisconsin, where the Arnold brothers settled. The couple left in Altorf, at Arnold's father's home, a three year old baby.
We stated that a young lady from Altorf, Miss Aloysia Haas, 24 years old, was also a passenger on the lost liner. We still do not know if she is alive or not. About twelve people from the Tessin region were aboard the "Titanic". We believed they were all lost. The young Rigorzi d'Aquila** (from Val Blenio, canton of Tessin), is reported to be saved.

* Aujourd'hui Altdorf
** Abele Rigozzi, originaire d'Aquila
