Mrs Ada Mary West (née Worth)

Mrs Edwy Arthur West (Ada Mary Worth) was born in Prospect Place, Mitchell Hill, Truro, Cornwall in 1879, the daughter of Mr Thomas Worth (Printer and partner in the firm of Netherton & Worth of 6 and 7 Lemon Street, Truro) and Mrs Ruth Worth. She was sister to Thomas, Vivian and Henrietta.

Ada married Edwy Arthur West of Newham, Truro, in Truro, in 1905. They moved initially to Bristol and later to Bournemouth where they lived at 'Livadia' Paisley Road, Southbourne.

She travelled on Titanic in second class with her husband and two daughters, Constance Miriam and Barbara. She was pregnant on the Titanic and gave birth to a son late in 1912.

Edwy was lost but Ada and the two children survived the sinking in lifeboat 10. They returned to her husband's brothers (Messrs R. K. and A. P. West) in Truro after returning to England on board the Celtic. She remained in Truro for the remainder of her life, passing away aged 74 on 20 April 1953. She is mentioned on her husband's memorial in Truro Cathedral.
