Mr Adolf Fredrik Dyker, 23, was the son of Anna Lovisa Dyker (née Andersson) from Gnesta, Sörmland, Sweden and her husband. Adolf Dyker was born at sea while his parents traveled from New York to Gothenburg. They were Swedish-Americans but living in Sweden where his father had for 23 years run a café on Upplandsgatan 11.
Adolf was educated in Stockholm, but later settled in USA. Among other things, he worked for a Bank in New York, but eventually settled in New Haven where he worked as a tram conductor. He lived at 468 Washington St. New Haven, Connecticut.
Dyker was recently married to Elisabeth Andersson and they were building a house in New Haven. Adolf's father died on 1 December 1911 and so Adolf and Elisabeth travelled to Sweden to arrange the inheritance with the widow. It was on their return from Sweden that they boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a third class passengers (ticket number 347072, £13 18s). After the accident Adolf placed his wife into lifeboat 16, kissed her and stepped aside.
Dyker died in the sinking. His body if recovered, was never identified.
The Mansion House Fund paid 874.08 Kr (£48) to his mother.
