Mr Carl Jonsson
Mr Carl Jonsson, 32, was a Swedish-American, probably living in Huntley, Illinois. He had a brother Andrew Palmqvist in Polar St. New Haven, Connecticut. Jonsson was travelling from Kvilleberga, Sweden to Huntley.
Travelling from Sweden via Denmark he bought his ticket for the Titanic in Copenhagen. He boarded at Southampton as a third class passenger with his travelling companions Paul Andreasson, Albert Augustsson, Nils Johansson and his sister in law Olga Lundin.
Jonsson and Lundin were the only survivors of the company. In New Haven he a later held speeches about how he was saved when the Titanic sank by swimming in a lifebelt to lifeboat A which he suceeded in boarding, actually he was rescued in lifeboat 15 which was lowered from the deck.
The Woman's Relief Committee paid him $25.
