Mr Charles Henry Chapman
Mr Charles Henry Chapman, 52, was born in Cape Town, South Africa, the son of Catherine Cecelia Roome and James Chapman (explorer of the African interior). Catherine was the daughter of Catherine Cecelia Bushnell and Capt William Roome. Catherine Bushnell was born in Virginia and her father also a sea captain apparently settled in Nova Scotia.
Chapman boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a second class passenger (ticket number 248731, £13 10s), he carried with him the family bible belonging to his grandparents' family in Virginia and/or Nova Scotia, Chapman himself lived in The Bronx, NY.
Chapman died in the sinking, his body was later recovered by the Mackay-Bennett.

The body was forwarded to J. J. Griffin of 2282 7th Ave, NY on 2nd May 1912 and he was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Bronx, New York. Close to the grave of fellow victim Arthur Nicholson.
