Mrs Clara Frauenthal (née Heinsheimer)
Mrs Henry William Frauenthal (Clara Heinsheimer) was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on 1 December 1869, the daughter of David Heinsheimer and Natalie Loeb who were both German immigrants.
On April 10 1912 Mrs Frauenthal boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a first class passenger, together with her husband of just two weeks Henry William Frauenthal, a New York physician. At Cherbourg the newlyweds were joined by Henry's brother Isaac.
All three survived the sinking, they were rescued in lifeboat 5.
Clara and her husband had no children but raised a foster-daughter, Natalie.
Henry Frauenthal killed himself in 1927 and Clare herself suffered from mental illness in later years. She was hospitalized in Connecticut for the last 16 years of her life.
Clara Frauenthal (née Heinsheimer) died on 30 March 1943 at Blythewood Sanitarium, Greenwich, Connecticut.
