Eugenie Elise Lurette

Miss Eugenie Elise Lurette was born at Marne, France in 1853. Her sister Eulalie Lurette-Railet lived at Hermonville, Marne.

She boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg as maid to Mrs William Augustus Spencer. She travelled on the Spencer's ticket (No. PC 17569) and occupied cabin B-80.

Mrs Spencer and Miss Lurette were rescued in lifeboat 6. On the Carpathia, sent a Marconigramm, which was transmitted on 17th April 1912 at 1.06 pm:

When the MacKay Bennettarrived at Halifax at 9:30 am on 30 April 1912, Miss Lurette she was there looking for Mr Spencer, but in vain. Miss Lurette was sent by Mrs Spencer, whom she had served for more than thirty years.

ELise Lurette died on 31st January 1940.
