Mr Henry John Spinner (1), 32, was born in 1880 in Arboretum, Worcestershire. He was the son of George (glove cutter) and Ellen Spinner. By the time of the 1881 census he was living with his family at Lower Chestnut St.. Claines, Worcester. He was the youngest brother of Emma, George, Ann, Elizabeth and Albert.
Henry John served in the Royal Marines during the Russo-Japanese War when he was stationed on H. M. S. Orion in the China seas. He later worked as a glove cutter at the Fownes factory in Worcester. He was married to Alice, and had a daughter, Maud.
By 1912 he was living with his family in Yeovil, Somerset (2) where he was reportedly a member of the local football team.
Spinner boarded at Southampton as a third class passenger (ticket number STON/OQ. 369943, £8, 1s). His destination, appropriately, was Gloversville, Massachusetts.
He died in the sinking. His body, if recovered, was never identified.

1. He is sometimes listed as "Skinner", possibly being confused with
Steward: Edward Skinner.
2. One 1912 newspaper gave his address as Middle Street, Arboretum, Worcester,
England.
